The
magic trick of the Rotor:the
elimination of the dead spots creates a rounded pedal
motion. More easy: with the same force, we go faster.
The pushing effort is spread over a larger muscular
area and then the results show. A member of our team
suffers from two lesions in the same knee…since
using the Rotor System he is ’rotorized’ and
his knee is better. Published on the April 2003 website

• “When we pedal our legs generate an alternative movement that has
to be turned into a circular one by a crankset. Crank systems have always had
one problem; When cranks are vertical, no matter how much force you exert on
them, the power will not be transmitted to the axle as a turning force (torque
in physical terms). It (ecliptic chainrings, such as Shimano Biopace) may have
been a good idea but it was incompatible with indexed front shifting systems
and never were accepted by most riders, so they were withdrawn in 1993. The Spanish
Paralympic Team tried the system successfully and Dr. Alfredo from Valladolid
University proved that the system provides a clear physiological advantage. First
of all it seems you are stronger than you really are. It’s easier to move
the big chainring and it’s easier too to pedal with a very slow cadence.
During the first two minutes there is a strange sensation of swinging. I found
that when I tried to climb very steep trails it was easier because a smaller
amount of strength that was needed to move the crank from its upper position.
I found that it was possible to surpass trails I had never thought I could have.
But, if the industry’s behavior is the same as it was with suspensions,
maybe in a few years all of us will have a Rotor equipped bike”. Written by David Diaz Blanco & published

“The data
so far obtained, indicate that in the laboratory conditions
employed the Rotor is of advantage”. 1. The lactate concentration reached
after 12 incremental tests, was always higher (1.9 +/- 1.2
mmol/l) after tests with the traditional bike.
2. The inclination of the straight part of the HR/S and HR/W relationships
was always slightly better with the Rotor.
3. The deflection point was at exercise intensities from 7 to 9% higher with
the Rotor than with the traditional bike.
Dr. Francesco Conconi, Universita ‘Degli Studi di Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy
“Rotor cranks not
only needed a very short adaptation time (intermuscular coordination), they also
improved the pedal stroke efficiency (intramuscular coordination) by over 10%
in this case study. It is worthy of note that this athlete has extensive training
time on an independent crank system (Powercranks) prior to this study”. Herb Chelbek, Quesnel, B.C.,
Canada
“For
me the days of using regular cranks are gone!I
now have about 1500 miles on them, and am a lifetime customer.
I was stunned when I had to go back to my regular crank about
month ago…it felt extremely herky jerky and inefficient,
and I almost abandoned the ride! I’m not wanting to
start any “crank wars”, any given product will
not be right for everyone, but I love my Rotors! Just to
be clear, I have no financial connection to Rotor, just a
very happy customer”. Posted on the website www.bentrideronline.com,

Scientifically proven
to reduce lacate levels by 13%and
lower the heart rate by 3-4%, allowing you to ride harder before
reaching lactate threshold, by an average of 2 minutes faster
over 40k, or 8-10 minutes in an Ironman.
"The tests were completed in two consecutive days, realizing each day half
of the racers with one system and the other half with the other system. The cyclists
were monitored with a Polar Pulse Monitor, and in different moments of the test
(32, 40, 48, 54 y 62 Km/h) blood samples were obtained via the ear lobe to measure
lactic acids (YSI model 1500 Sport). The results obtained show that at the same
speed, the heart rate (3.5%) as well as the lactic acid (13.5% at the end of
the test) were lower when the Rotor system was used, with greatest differences
at levels where the force applied was nearest to the anaerobic threshold of the
cyclist. In conclusion, we believe that the Rotor system is a mechanism that
improves the metabolic efficiency of the cyclist and produces less physical wear
for the same amount of work."
